OEM stands for "Original Equipment Manufacturer". This means that a company that supplies items to other companies to resell or incorporate into another product using the reseller's brand name (see example no. 1). It also means that when a manufacturer supplies an item to another company or the original company manufactures it for themselves it is OEM (see example no. 2).


Examples:

Only the "Original Manufacturer" of a part or item can be considered an OEM part or OEM manufacturer. Anything else should be considered a replacement or replica, not OEM.
